How to write a book about being transgender — and the obstacles to success

“I have a lot of things to say.

I have to tell you this.

I had the same thoughts I always do when I’m reading a book, which is: ‘What’s happening to me?

What’s happening in my life?'”

She paused and then shook her head.

“I’m going to go through this book with you, because it’s really, really, super important.

And it’s going to help you get over that fear.”

She paused again.

“And also help you do the work that’s important to you.

That’s not going to be easy.”
