‘Grown-up’ author is making the move to the ‘grown-up world’

Writer, journalist, blogger and podcaster Kevin Roose is heading out of the US for the first time in his life.

After living in Canada and New Zealand for two years, Roose, 47, said he’s coming home to live with his family in Australia.

“It’s a bit of a different experience, but it’s a huge step into the future.”

I’ve always felt like I was at home here.

I’ve been working in a hotel, I’ve written for a few magazines, and I’m working in my blog.

“So, for me, this is really a new chapter,” Roose told CBC Radio’s This Week in Canada.

He said he plans to leave the hotel in Sydney to start living alone, with his partner of 15 years.

“You know what?

I’m going to do that now.

I’m just going to try and take it step by step,” Roose said.

He plans to work from home on his blog, but said he’d prefer to be on the road as often as possible.

“My main goal for the next year is to just work from my home, and then when I get home, work from anywhere,” Roose added.

“That’s the plan.

But I want to be doing that all the time.”

Roose said he had plenty of people to thank for helping him to move from a hotel to a new life.

“There are a lot of people who are really supportive and helpful, who are also helping me make my transition,” he said.

“They’re not like a family that is always supportive and kind, but they’re like friends that are always here.”

Some people have just given me a great experience.

I’ll definitely be talking to them.
